Ask of Me and I will Give the Nations as an Inheritance
There is a common theme rising from my spirit and heart when I enter my prayer room, kneel in worship and begin to intercede, “Lord, I cry out for our nation and for the nations. Lord, cause there to be awakening, a harvest. Transformation in the nations.” It is a passion, a burden, a calling. As my friends, Alice Smith and Cindy Jacobs, have lovingly stated, “Becca, you are a nations girl!”
This year has been one of praying, teaching and equipping the nations. I have traveled to Russia, Korea, Malaysia, Costa Rica, Brazil, England and Scotland, and extensively throughout the U.S. We convened a powerful spiritual warfare conference in February. We have worked with other prayer ministries in numerous, strategic prayer assignments in our nation in such a crucial election season. Greg and I led an awesome team of 22 intercessors to our Capitol to pray for breakthrough. We were privileged to partner with other prayer leaders on an August 10 nationwide prayer assignment. God moved in amazing ways. Below, I will share one miraculous testimony from that assignment, but before, I want to stop and honor a spiritual father and a brother.
Peter Wagner
One of the great Fathers of the faith and our spiritual father, C. Peter Wagner, transitioned to glory on October 21. Greg and I so loved he and Doris. They are family. We have told them repeatedly we would not be where we are today if it had not been for their love, belief and support in us. I have already wanted to talk to Peter a 1,000 times. I so want to share an awesome report or testimony, ask his counsel and hear one more time with sincerity and enthusiasm, “Oh hi, darlin!” We miss him so much and are thankful we have Doris here with and for us, she is strong and speaking into our lives and she herself is continuing to move forward.
Gwinn Greenwood
As I type this newsletter, I’m sitting in a hotel room in Claremore, OK. The reason for being in Claremore? Greg’s brother, Gwinn, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 3 from an, unfortunate, fatal heart attack. He was 54 years old. So sad to lose someone so loved at such a young age. A friend on Facebook shared the following quote which I thought was beautiful: Sometimes we want them here with us longer, but sometimes heaven needs them more. We rejoice Gwinn is a believer and is with the Lord, although our hearts are sad and we miss him. Please continue praying for the Greenwood and Wagner families in this time of loss, especially during this Christmas season.
One Testimony from the D.C. Prayer Journey
On our D.C. prayer assignment, we prayed at the Capitol Building, the Library of Congress, the DNC Headquarters, Supreme Court Building, the site of Civil War battles, the Washington Monument, Arlington Cemetery and several other locations. This testimony focuses on the Capitol Building.
As we entered, one of the team members raised her phone to take a picture, it was exactly 2:22. This was a repeated pattern throughout the trip. I felt the Lord prompting us to pray a specific faith-filled prayer, “We are decreeing an Isaiah 22:22 moment. We open the doors for the King of Glory to come in.
We made our way around the corner. A gentleman stopped us to inquire about our plans. We explained, “We are planning to tour on our own.” He replied, “I’m sorry, but for security reasons you have to be on a guided tour. I’m a guide and would help, but I’m already scheduled with another group.” We explained we are history students who like to tour key historic locations. He suggested we use the phone on his desk to call State Legislators offices and inquire if anyone would be able to assist us. We got no answers, but he remained enthusiastic. “Wait here a minute!” Briefly, he returned with top security badges, “My friend will take you through.” We hurried to follow this man (who didn’t tell us his name or anything about himself). He explained that we needed to be very quiet and walk fast so he could get us through quickly. He shared he was taking us to the fifth floor, a high security level, only legislatures and their families are permitted to access.
After exiting the elevator, he instructed us to wait while he obtained security passes to continue. We were able to say quick quiet prayers every time he left us at key strategic locations. We made our way through amazingly ornate hallways and saw things the general public will never see as even pictures of this floor are not available in a Capitol tour book. He took us to the offices of prominent government leaders. He, again, left us alone. We prayed for righteous governance in our nation to occur in the upcoming elections.
We saw the famous original painting of the signing of the Declaration of Independence at the top of a double staircase the legislators use to enter into congressional meeting rooms. Again, he left us alone for several minutes. We prayed for the constitution to be honored and for righteousness to be welcomed back into our nation.
Next he took us to the House Floor (which only legislators have access) and spent forty five minutes telling us what happens during sessions. We learned that our new friend is one of four appointed legal counsels to congress. This was a once in a life time opportunity for us to learn what happens on the floor during sessions! He again left us alone. We quickly prayed all corruption would be exposed and dealt with and the House and Senate would once again become conservative branches. That God’s will be done in our nation.
Aruba
Heading into 2017, God is already opening amazing doors and strategic assignments. Greg and I, along with Brandon and Kate Larson, will be heading to Aruba in January. We will be working with a friend, Lisette Malmberg. Her family owns a successful tour company in Aruba. She has asked us to lead the teaching and strategic prayer as they move forward to impact Aruba with His hope and love. We are very excited about this amazing moment for this nation.
Russia
We will take a highly-trained group of intercessors into Russia, Germany and China. This prayer strategy began to unfold while I was in Russia in January 2015. The leader I work with, who will rename nameless for security purposes, took us to the city center and showed us a statue. Lenin was the man represented. He asked my thoughts. I replied, “I feel it is a strongman of this nation.” My friend replied, “Yes, Stalin and then Lenin lived and died. They were controlling leaders. A lot of bloodshed. After his death, the nation made Lenin a hero and they still worship him.” He asked, “If money and people were no object what would be your dream prayer assignment to see this nation set free from this controlling structure?” I shared a team would go to the key locations on the same day at the same time to repent, break its hold off the land and welcome God’s covenant plan to come forth. If we could do this, we would begin to see the nation change. His response to me, “When do we start?” The beauty is, in every one of these locations he has already begun an apostolic work. I asked how he knew to do this. His response, “You must go to the darkest places of strongholds, to build the new. This is a must to see transformation come. Isn’t this what was modeled in Acts?”
Upon finishing this conversation, Brenda Bechtel excitedly exclaimed, “Becca he is inviting you to help transform this nation through prayer. Aren’t you excited?!” My response, “Yes, but shocked. I’ve not quite met a leader so full of faith. Jesus is going to have to do something supernatural to let me know beyond the shadow of doubt that I’m to do this. It’s a big assignment.” Well, it is true that when you ask, you shall receive. The following is the rest of what occurred to bring confirmation.
Jay Swallows Encounter Confirms the Assignment
About a month before Jay Swallow, a strong apostolic leader to the First Nations People, passed away in 2015, my friends Sandy and DeeAnn visited him. After being with Jay, his wife, Joan, shared that he had been unconscious, but he woke up long enough to tell her about an awesome encounter in which he was translated to China, Germany and Russia, “When I went to Russia there was a man that said, ‘We had a leader and when he died, they made him a hero. He’s now the strongman over Russia and we need to spiritually contend with this.’” These were the exact words our friend in Russia had used. Jay knew when he came back from that encounter this was the next now prayer assignment in the nations.
Sandy knew at that very moment I was in Russia teaching. She asked Joan if there was something I could do while there. She requested that I to bring back dirt, rocks and water.
Sandy emailed me that night, and shared with me Jay’s supernatural encounter. The next day, the Lord directed me to pray over one person from each city that was at the meeting to dedicate these leaders and cities to transformation. There were two people left at the end of the long line, one from China and one from Germany. You just can’t make this stuff up!!
I sent the dirt, rocks and water to Sandy. She was going to take them to Jay the morning he passed into eternity. Three weeks later, I was in Sandy’s church. Joan came and she and I prayed over the land, rocks and water. She said to me, “you will be Jay’s feet into the nation of Russia and you will go with Jay’s authority on the land.”
This whole supernatural sequence of events was the confirmation I asked God for. Plans are now underway for this assignment to see the nation of Russia and all the nations it effects to shift and transform.
In Closing
As we transition into 2017, we would like to ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us. As we participated in Peter’s Celebration of Life Service and also led Gwinn’s memorial service, Greg and I cancelled two of our speaking engagements because we understand during these times, family must become the first and foremost focus. It also means we have gone without resources for the ministry. We also have these 2 mentioned assignments above (as well as many others) that I could write about. It is your partnership that we need in the days ahead to contribute to and empower us to be able to accomplish all God is calling us to do. We fully believe that prayer is not just behind all great moves of God, but that an awakening to prayer is the great move of God. As assignments increase, so does the work load. We need to increase our staff and have the resources to pay them for their labor with us. To partner with us you can go online to www.christianharvestintl.org/donate.
